Route

Here's a map of the general route that I'm going to try to stick to (follow the black line). The original plan was to bike from Coumbus to Denver as well, but there wasn't much that I wanted to see along that way and, frankly,  Kansas is Hell on Earth. Slicing that part of the route off removes about 2000 miles, leaving a solid 4000 mile trail.

I'm flying into Denver with my bike (more on flying with a bike later) at some point around June 21 and heading northward from there. The major destination around the midway point is Vancouver, CA (yes, crossing the border) and then it's down south along the Pacific coast for almost 2000 miles from there. My final destination is Imperial Beach, CA on the border of Mexico.

If you know of any awesome destinations on or near my route, please let me know about them. I'd especially like any information on excursions in Yellowstone and Glacier National Park so if you've been there before I'd love to hear about it.

  4. Lava River Cave sounds awesome! Mt. St. Helens is a little too far east to visit though which is really disappointing. I really wanted to get to Crater Lake as well in the Pacific Northwest, but that's on an entirely different route.
