I awoke well rested though so no real complaints. As I was packing up my tent, a couple with their dog approached and were really interested in my tour. It turns out that husband Bob sells bikes at REI. It's always great to meet a fellow cyclist!
Here's the awesome part: Bob and Sherry invited me into their home to wash up and have some breakfast. I know it's only day 2, but the feeling of being in a real bathroom is unparalleled.
Thank you so much, Bob and Sherry. Your hospitality was overwhelming.
Thank you also to Kevin from the Denver Airport as well. The chances of me forgetting a headlight for my bike and meeting someone who owns a bike shop and was carrying an entire supply of lights can't just be a coincidence.
Also, here's a shout-out to the two lovely ladies I met on my flight yesterday. It was lovely chatting with you. Hope you're reading.
I'm currently just barely outside of Denver (in a McDonald's near Strandley Lake if you're Google Mapping). My destination today is somewhere between the towns of Idaho Springs and Nederall. I started early today so I'm hoping to make it further. But with an elevation change of 2500 feet between here and there, we'll see how far I actually get.
I want to get back on the road now since it's still early and cool, but I want to talk about all the emotions I'm feeling in my next post. Until next time.
