I want to start this post by saying this: nothing I am doing right now would ever have been possible without you, Mark. Without your support, this entire journey would have been stashed away in the Impossible Adventures folder in my mind, where so many of my thoughts go to die.
I still remember the pit in my stomach as we were sitting in Sloopy's Diner five months ago and I proposed my plan of such insane proportions. I knew nothing about bike touring at that point; I hadn't even owned a bike since I was 14. And how were my toothpick legs supposed to pedal 60 miles a day for 70 days?
But Mark has learned to take my lunacy in stride and he helped me pare down my fanciful vision into something that was practical and accomplishable. He was there with me every step of the way from buying the bike to riding with me and even going so far as to purchase Ortlieb panniers for me for my birthday.
You are a truly amazing friend, Mark, and my life is made better by knowing you. 70 days apart will be tough, but I think we'll manage. By the end of it, I know you'll be begging me to sing "Everything's Alright" to you one more time :).
Baaaaaaaarf.
ReplyDeleteWhatevs, Ori. I'm surprised you can even read this post without your "prescription" glasses.
